Now in its fifth year, DAIKIN Beach 5s is returning to The Mount off the back of a record year in 2025 with 61 teams and over 730 players!
The newest five-a-side tackle sport taking the world by storm is a Rugby Union and Rugby League hybrid game without scrums or lineouts.
A weekend on the famous Mount Maunganui golden sand and an inflatable pitch with a backdrop of the picturesque Mauao.

Whether you dream about footy and need an offseason hiss, or think a ‘try’ is a word of encouragement, Beach 5s is for you.  There’s up to five players a side on the field with seven reserves and unlimited subbing. All ages are welcome!

Team Categories and Entry Fees:
- Open Men Beach 5s & Open Women Beach 5s, Maters (Over 45’s) & Colts (Under 21’s): $400 per team
- Youth Beach 5s (Years 5 and 6 boys, Years 5 and 6 girls, Years 7 and 8 boys, Years 7 and 8 and girls, Years 9 and 10 boys, Years 9 and 10 girls, Years 11, 12 & 13 boys and Years 11, 12 & 13 girls): $280 per team
Winners of Seniors categories receive FREE Team Entry to another Beach 5s events of their choice (Australia).
