Beach 5s Australia is delighted to partner with the City of Newcastle for our annual Beach 5s Australia Day Weekend Festival – now in our 5th year on Nobbys Beach.

Our Australia Day Weekend Festival is a celebration of togetherness, harmony, and inclusivity.

We proudly embrace and support the Indigenous community, and on Australia Day, we run the annual All-Star Legends Charity Game. All-Nations Legends V’s NRL Newcastle Knights Legends, Captained by Kurt Gidley.

This is a festival for everyone, where all are welcome to join in the fun and excitement.

NRL Beach Tackle is a contact sport of tackle, based on modified rules of Rugby League, with no kicks or scrums – on a pitch that measures 31m x 25m – “Five” players in the field of play – up to “Seven” reserves with unlimited interchange

Our Newcastle event is open to all! Register a Premier 5s or Social team or come and cheer from the sidelines (free entry for spectators). Fun for all ages, from U13 Juniors to Men’s and Women’s.

Events Days:
Saturday – Open Men, Open Women’s (some youth games may be played based on entries)
Sunday – Youth & Schools (U13, U15, U17)

Winners of Seniors categories receive FREE Team Entry to another Beach 5s event of their choice

Team Categories and Entry Fees:
Open Women’s $550 per team
Open Men’s $550 per team
Youth boys & girls (U13s, U15s, U17s) $295 

To secure your team’s spot in our event, the team registration must be completed via MySideline. Registrations will be opened shortly. 

*Full refunds will be provided should there be any reason that this event may not be able to run, or postponed. The event organiser reserves the right to amalgamate divisions, within safety regulations, as entries or cancellations dictate
